One day I was driving near the lakeside and I saw a turtle in the road. I have heard that if you want to help a turtle that you place them on the side of the road in which they are headed. This particular turtle was facing in the direction of the traffic – not facing right or left.
Sooo … I thought I would take him to a safe place at a nearby stream. The bank was steep and it appeared best to drop him in the water – as to cushion the fall.
The next day I came back to check if he was still there and he was . . . the water was clear and he was at the bottom of the stream – obviously not in a good condition.
The Lord spoke something strong to my heart: Sometime we think we know what is best for our family and friends. We push them, talk to them, hoping they will go in a good direction.
The Lord knows the plans for us and those we love. Lord, help us to pray more and trust more. Help us to be at peace. We know that all things WILL work together for those who love God and are called according to Your purpose. Help us to take our hands off and not think that we “know so much”! Amen
