I think that many of us struggle with fasting. It is important. We need to listen when God tells us to do it. There are seasons when we need to have serious obedience because the times we are in – ARE SERIOUS! Sometimes, though, occasionally – intercessors and spiritual warriors particularly can get focused on the fasting instead of the of the GOAL of the fasting: – GETTING OUR EYES ON JESUS – to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke – Isaiah 58:7
Zechariah 8:18 . . . the fast of the fourth month, the fast of the fifth, the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth. Shall be JOY and GLADNESS and cheerful feasts for the house of Judah. Therefore LOVE TRUTH AND PEACE.
Lord, let our goal be to hold your hand, look into your eyes and obey – whether it be by fasting or feasting.
