Smooth Stones . . . are mentioned in Isaiah 57:6 – . . . I was reading one morning and this phrase caught my attention. It of course reminded me of the smooth stones that David picked up from the brook before he fought Goliath.
I Samuel 17:40 Then he (David) took his staff in his hand; and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag, in a pouch which he had, and his sling was in his hand. And he drew near to the Philistine. . . .
Smooth Stones are only found in areas where there has been much refining. The rough edge have been TAKEN OFF. Dutch Sheets has been speaking recently of God “shoving” him through the eye of the needle – that all that is unnecessary is being quickly removed.
God is refining us and making us smooth stones – it is only THEN – that we will be ready for HIS use to TAKE OUT THE GIANTS in our land!
